The squares of Madrid royale
Flight from Venice and arrival in Madrid in the morning; transfer to the center by metro. The route starts from the Puerta del Sol and continues towards Plaza Mayor, Calle Mayor and Plaza de la Villa. You reach the Cathedral of Almudena and the square in front of the Royal Palace, then Plaza de Oriente, the Teatro Real and Plaza de España. In the evening, walk along the Gran Vía.
2nd day · 13 February
The Prado and Retiro Park
Walk along Calle de Alcalá, between the Metropolis building, the Círculo de Bellas Artes, the Cervantes Institute and the Banco de España, to Plaza de Cibeles. Visit to the Prado Museum, with entrance ticket to be paid separately. The route continues towards Atocha and the book stalls of Claudio Moyano, to enter the Retreat and reach the fountain of the fallen Angel and the Crystal Palace.

Literary neighborhoods and sunset in Debod
You can explore the Barrio de las Letras, linked to Cervantes and Lope de Vega, then discover Chueca and Malasaña, between lively streets and neighbourhood squares. The day ends at the Temple of Debod, to admire the sunset over the city.
4th day · 15 February
Lavapiés, La Latina and return
Last walks between Lavapiés and La Latina, with the tapas of Cava Baja, Puerta Cerrada and the Arco de Cuchilleros that leads to Plaza Mayor. Free time and dinner before the airport transfer. Departure from Madrid at 22:25; arrival in Venice at 00:55 on 16 February.
