Travel Tips
What documents do I need to travel?
Passport, identity card, visas and minors: from where to start to prepare departure documents.

The documents to be prepared depend on citizenship, destination, possible transits, duration and reason of stay. The check must be done in advance and repeated before leaving.
Passport and identity card
For citizens of the European Union, a valid passport or national identity card allows you to travel to the EU countries and to Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. For an Italian identity card you must check the validity for the expatriate. It also carries the document when there are no systematic checks at the internal borders.
For other destinations, check the specific conditions of the passport: residual validity, free pages and required features. The six-month rule is not universal.
Visas and authorisations
Depending on the country and the traveller you may need a visa or an electronic authorization. Check the official procedures also for the call and consider the release times before booking non-modifiable services.
Tickets, reservations and insurance
Keep tickets, reservations and useful references at your fingertips. Some destinations require proof of return or continuation travel and accommodation.
Read the conditions of the chosen insurance: coverages, exclusions, ceilings and assistance contacts. Any insurance obligations depend on the destination and type of entry; there is no one mandatory amount for each trip.
Health and guidance abroad
Consult the official health information of the destination and check whether specific certifications are required. If you intend to drive, check the license recognition and the possible need for an international permit or a translation.
Travelling with minors
Every child must have his or her own valid document. On the basis of the itinerary, the accompanying persons and the applicable rules may need additional authorizations or documents.
